Heather is a fiber artist located in Denver, CO. She specializes in home, wedding and nursery décor.
In 2010, Heather found herself with an excess of fabric scraps. She had just sewn a quilt for her soon-to-be-born niece and she just didn’t want to waste the scraps. Those scraps became bird mobiles and fabric banners. “I started making more of those things and I took them to an event and I got such a great response,” she says. “And I just fell in love with the other artists at the markets, and the camaraderie among us all.”
Heather left her corporate job, started Elevated Scraps and hasn’t looked back since. Because she strongly believes in minimizing waste, she continues to use fabric scraps and upcycled materials, such as twigs, for her creations. One of the most popular items Elevated Scraps offers is a make-your-own banner. “It’s a practical gift to give someone,” Heather says. “At events, people can pick their own letters and design their own banner. We’ll have people stand in front of the table for an hour.”
Heather lives in Denver with her husband and her black lab mix, who still loves to play at age 15.
